FAQS

Taking that first step by choosing therapy can be overwhelming and scary. We get it and are here to help. Here is what to expect on your journey with us:

What are the benefits of therapy?

Therapy offers numerous benefits that can vary from person to person. While family and friends provide valuable support during tough times, professional therapy can provide a safe space to explore deeper meaning of your emotions and challenges. It helps individuals gain new perspectives, develop coping strategies, and enhance their overall well-being. Ultimately, therapy can empower people to navigate their unique journeys and foster personal growth.

What is my first session like?

Your first session is an introduction to one another and an opportunity for you to share your story. We believe in creating a warm and inviting environment to develop trust between one another. We will review intake paperwork, gather more information about you, your history and goals for the future. We will then work together to develop a plan to help you reach them! You are not alone in this journey!

Is what I tell you confidential?

Yes, but there are limits. We follow the guidelines outlined in the NASW (National Association of Social Workers) and guidelines of the State of Georgia. Confidentiality will be covered in your first session and ongoing through your treatment.

Can you prescribe medication?

Therapists cannot prescribe medications. After evaluating your situation, we will refer you to a licensed psychiatrist, MD or other licensed professional who can help you.
